A small wind system is a device that converts energy
from wind into electricty that can be used to offset
electric usage. Thousands of homes, farms, schools,
small businesses and other institutions use small wind
turbines to lower or eliminate their electricity bills
by generating clean power for their own use. Most
small wind energy systems are connected to the utility
grid, while some are used for remote, stand-alone
applicatons such as charging batteries for backup
power. Connecting to the grid allows a turbine owner
to use electricity from the local utility when the
wind doesn't blow, but also allows any surplus
electricty - energy produced in excess of consumption,
such as when winds are strong and usage is low - to be
sent back into the grid and used by a neighbor.
Unlike the utility-scale turbines, a small wind
system, by definition, is used to produce power
primarily for on-site use.
We have the expertise and software to accurately predict how you can get the most cost effective power for your investment. We can design and install a turbine system from the smallest residential application to the largest manufacturing facility or confinement. Our systems are perfect for rural manufacturers.
We manage the entire process from start to finish, including:
- Site location
- Permits
- Zoning
- Financing
- Feasibility Study
- Interconnection agreements
- Installation
- Wiring/trenching
- Preventative maintenance
